Cathie Carriere
Professional Patchwork Teacher with over 12 years of experience

We at Studio France can not empahsise enough that all our tutors are not only very talented in their subjects are are also professional teachers and have been practicing teaching for several years. Cathie Carriere is no exception, she has been a professional in patchwork for twelve years.

Cathie creates a wide range of items including bedspreads, tableware and cushions with traditional designs as well as using her own patterns to sell in her shop. Cathie has taught courses across the Tarn and has had her work displayed in many exhibitions.

She teaches in a way which not only encourages and inspires the beginner, but also is able to push and challenge the most experienced patchworker. Her maner is gentle whilst ensuring you do learn and her attention to detail is quite excetional.

She provides tuition based on the need for detail and meticulous handiwork guidance in design, creation and colour.

*For those of you who know Cathie, will realise that she is very shy and to get a photograph of her has been a long quest. I am delighted to be able to add to our website, a photograph of her attending the annual Cordes-sur-Ciel Festival and for those lucky enough to staying with Studio France during this event, will always have an exceptional evening of Medieval dance and parades.

Jo Skelding - translator

It is only the patchwork workshop which is lucky enough to have Jo Skelding as a key member of the Studio France team, working with them everyday of their holiday.

Jo ensures that everyone who arrives in Labarthe-Bleys is made to feel welcome and really makes the most of their week with Cathie and their time in France. A unique and wonderful person who has brought a new dimension to the art of translation.
