Julia Wilson-Dickson
Shakespeare and Poetry Workshops

 
Julia Wilson-Dickson trained on the Teachers Course at the Central School of Speech and Drama. She taught both on the Teachers and the Acting Courses for two years, and on the Acting Course for a further ten. She also taught on the Post Graduate Course in Voice Studi es. Since then she has been a freelancer and has worked for instance at the National Theatre with Peter Hall on Shakespeare in particular and on many classical plays ranging from The Beaux Stratagem to Tess of the D'Urbevilles as well as a varied range of other works.

Julia worked on the film of Hamlet (Franco Zeffirelli), on Braveheart as Dialogue Coach and on period TV Dramas such as Moll Flanders, Far from the Madding Crowd and Madame Bovary. The range and depth of her work has covered everything from modern opera, classical drama to fringe and experimental plays and films.


 

Julia has done extensive work for the BBC Radio Repertory Company, including coaching students for the Radio Prize.

In the past couple of years her most recent works include 'Finding Netherland' with Jonnie Depp as well as 'Beyond the Sea' with Kevin Spacey and the rest of the cast.

The remainder of her work has been on every kind of TV drama, theatre and film, giving her vast experience of working on an individual basis or with groups.
